Sleep on the other side for the first week and take care with towels, helmet straps and beard trimmers, which catch fresh studs more than anything else. A hoop like the one in the third photo is best worn once the piercing has healed, because a ring moves and can irritate a fresh lobe; start with a flat stud and switch after the six to eight weeks. Once healed, plain studs and hoops need almost no upkeep beyond a wipe with saline now and then.
