A custom tattoo is designed specifically for you. It starts with your brief – a concept, a reference image, a feeling, a memory – and our artist builds a unique design around it. No one else in the world will have the same tattoo.

How Custom Design Works at Black Poison Tattoo Studio
1. Your Brief
Tell us what you want. It can be specific (“a lotus with Shiva’s trishul on my forearm, black and grey”) or vague (“something meaningful about my journey”). Both are fine starting points.
2. Artist Matching
Based on your style preference, we match you to the right specialist on our team. Fine line goes to our fine line artist. Realism goes to our realism specialist.
3. Design Consultation
Your artist discusses reference images, placement, size, and style direction. This is where we refine the brief before putting pencil to paper.
4. Custom Design
Your artist creates a custom design. You review it and provide feedback. Revisions are included.
5. Stencil and Final Approval
The approved design is transferred to your skin. You check the exact placement and size before we start.
6. Tattooing
The final piece is executed with precision in our fully sterile studio.

Do you charge for the consultation or design changes?
No. The consultation is free and carries no obligation. Once you decide to go ahead, your artist draws the design, you review it, and revisions are included before the stencil is made and the price is confirmed.
Can I bring a Pinterest or Instagram image?
Yes. Reference images help your artist understand the style, mood and placement you want. The artist uses them as a starting point and draws an original design, so your tattoo is not a copy of someone else’s.
How long does a custom design take?
It depends on the size and detail. Small designs are quick to finalise, while sleeves and back pieces take longer to draw. Your artist tells you at the consultation when the design will be ready, and you review it before the stencil is made.
What is the difference between a custom tattoo and a flash tattoo?
